Creatividad y Salud
Hi. If you follow us on social media, you might already know me a little. I'm Olivia, and among other things, I manage the social media accounts for Mediterranean Health.

I've been involved with Salud Mediterránea my whole life, since my parents started the business when I was a child. I don't remember a single dinner without conversation about the shop, or Saturday mornings when either my sister or I had to accompany my father to the Atocha shop to help him serve customers.

For many years, I found the shop a drag. I used to ask my parents to talk about something else during dinner. I, who have always been creative, longed to talk about music, books, or art. But they talked about new products and food. What I didn't realize then was that their conversations were teaching me a lot of things, including the importance of enjoying your work, the necessity of taking care of yourself, and that doing things as a family isn't perfect, but it is wonderful.
Unlike my sister , I never felt that calling to work in the family business. Always rebellious, I wanted to distance myself from everything and everyone. However, in the end, family pulls you back, and so do the values instilled by a family that has loved and cared for you your whole life.  So, armed with a passion for taking care of myself and a lot of ideas on how to use my experience for the good of the company and our clients, I have been happily working at Mediterranean Health for 4 years.

I'm a journalist by vocation and training. My first paid article was for CuerpoMente magazine, which I contributed to for years. I've worked for daily and weekly newspapers, and I've also written for magazines and news agencies. I love journalism, and although I no longer practice it, I still devour the news—I read the (digital) newspaper every day, listen to podcasts whenever I'm alone, and magazines still arrive at my house.

On a more personal note, I like to take care of myself. Not out of vanity, but because I like having energy and I hate feeling unwell. I was diagnosed with gluten intolerance in 2011, and since I stopped eating gluten, my life has improved remarkably. I'm very strict about it, and I carefully read the labels of everything I consume—both food and cosmetics. Although, to be honest, I prepare most of what we eat at home, and except for a few occasions, we don't eat anything ultra-processed.

Besides a healthy diet, I stay active - running, walking and yoga are my favorite activities and I will write about them another time - I dedicate time to myself, the famous self-care, I take supplements according to my needs, and I go to medical check-ups regularly.

I feel very fortunate to have a job that allows me to perform tasks I love for a company with a philosophy I believe in and with an unparalleled team that includes my father, my cousin and my sister - as well as people I have known for decades - and that also allows me to take care of my family the way I want to.

At Mediterranean Health, I handle the creative side—the part that oversees the overall image of the stores. I imagine you've noticed some changes in recent months; I hope you're liking them. More changes are coming, and I hope that, besides being beautiful, you'll find them useful.
Taking care of myself and my two children is my priority, and I hope I can help you do the same, whether it's with the products we have in the store, the advice of our team, or our own experience.

I hope to see you soon on social media - we have Facebook , Instagram and Pinterest accounts, where in addition to telling you about the offers we have, you can see part of my family life.

Olivia
