Verano todo el año: o cómo disfrutar más de la vuelta a la rutina

Summer is many people's favorite season. It certainly is for me. I love the sun and the heat, but above all, I love that feeling of freedom I still remember from childhood. Going back to routine and leaving behind the activities we love so much isn't easy, and sometimes we fall into the post-vacation blues : anxiety, fatigue, and little desire to return to the work year.

I encourage you not to forget about summer this September, and to continue doing the things you love most about that season.

Reading: During a week-long vacation, I devoured a book in three days, something I'm incapable of doing during the year. However, we can still carve out moments each day to enjoy reading. If you carry a book with you, you can always take it out at any time—in waiting rooms, after school, etc.—and you'll read more.

Eating: Eating in summer is a pleasure. On the one hand, there's the abundance of seasonal vegetables at their peak, and on the other hand, the ability to eat comfortably on the terrace or in the garden. Since I love having breakfast outdoors, I try to do it as often as possible, even if it means putting on a warm tracksuit before breakfast—I can't do it every day due to lack of time, but I make the most of the weekends. And even if I don't have seasonal lettuce and cucumbers, there are plenty of pumpkins and chard to enjoy.

Sleep: During vacations I tend to sleep a bit more, partly because I can wake up later, but also because after intense days of outdoor activity, going to bed early is necessary. Instead of staying up watching TV until the wee hours, try to move around more during the day—see the next point—go to bed early, and wake up energized in the morning.

Sun and nature: Living inland, seeing the sea every day is impossible for me. If I lived on the coast, I would, because it fills me with life. But I can take advantage of the sun and nature almost every day of the year—summer doesn't really end until September 21st, by the way—and benefit from the peace they offer. To do the same, go for a walk every day (early morning is my favorite time, even in the city) and make outdoor plans, even if it's cold. I love adventure activities, and to enjoy them even when it's chilly, all you need is the right clothing.

Appreciate the change: Changes are rarely easy, but a change in attitude makes them more bearable. Take a moment to be grateful for the experiences you had during your vacation, and visualize the things you're most looking forward to this autumn: For me, September is a time of renewal and opportunity, and also of cozy blankets and sweaters.

How do you deal with the change of seasons?
