Spirulina ( Spirulina platensis ) is a blue-green, single-celled algae and a source of protein, amino acids, carotenoids, vitamins, minerals, and trace elements. In ancient times, it was used for its high nutritional value, and today it is considered a superfood and a source of nutrients necessary for maintaining a strong immune system.
Hawaiian Green Tree Spirulina replaces and improves upon the old Green Tree Spirulina. This improved formula contains:
- 500 mg of Hawaiian spirulina per capsule / 3,000 mg per recommended dose
- 0.49g of protein per recommended dose
- 28 g of chlorophyll per recommended dose
- 1040 units of superoxide dismutase
Hawaiian Spirulina Herbolario S. Mediterránea is made with spirulina algae grown on the coast of Kona, in the Pacific Ocean, on the Big Island of Hawaii, where it receives sunlight twelve months of the year.
It is cultivated using 100% purified drinking water filtered with volcanic lava rock and 5% ocean water collected from the seabed at a depth of approximately 2,000 feet. Furthermore, this spirulina is dried using a patented rapid drying process—in less than 30 minutes—to prevent nutrient oxidation.
Spirulina is considered a superfood due to its numerous health benefits. It is rich in B vitamins, vitamin E, vitamin K, and vitamin A, among others.
