Description
Herbolario S. Mediterránea Evening Primrose Oil is mechanically extracted and filtered, and cold-pressed. It contains 9% gamma-linolenic acid and natural vitamin E. It comes in soft capsules, also known as pearls, made with gelatin, glycerin, and water. Because the pearls contain gelatin, this product is not vegan.
Evening Primrose Oil is made by pressing the seeds of the Evening Primrose plant (Oenothera biennis). This oil is valued because it has a high content of fatty acids, such as omega-6, linoleic acid, and gamma-linolenic acid (GLA).
Although there is research on evening primrose oil and its effectiveness in treating numerous conditions, it is in the treatment of skin conditions that the research has been most positive.
Evening Primrose Oil has traditionally been used to help induce labor and regulate the menstrual cycle, although there is currently no scientific evidence to support this.
