Spending more time in nature is beneficial for our body and also for our mental health, but if we don't live in the countryside, mountains or beach, how can we find nature every day?
These ideas for activities any day of the year will help you spend more time enjoying our land and taking advantage of all the benefits of spending more time outdoors.
1. Take care of and clean your surroundings; remember, it's your home. I have a neighbor who always takes a plastic bag with him when he goes for a walk. When he comes back, the bag is full of trash he's collected. I love seeing him do that, and that's why when we go to the beach we do the same: we pick up any trash we find and put it away properly. Taking care of our environment connects us to it.
2. Create a home garden. There are herbs, fruit trees, and vegetables that can grow even if you only have a small balcony. Tomatoes, basil, and mint are some examples. If you have more space, you can start growing your own vegetables, and not just in spring. Some vegetables grow well in summer and autumn. Find out what you can plant according to your location and the season.
3- Blanket + food = Picnic. You can do this in the countryside, but also in the city. City parks or botanical gardens are wonderful options—remember to clean up when you're finished and leave the park cleaner than you found it.
4- Indoor garden. I would love to have an indoor courtyard at home like in palaces, but I'm happy with the indoor plants that thrive inside my house. I enjoy taking care of them and watching them grow, becoming more beautiful every day, and bringing life to the interior of my home.
5- Spend the day in the countryside. So-called forest bathing, basically spending quality time in nature, is rejuvenating. Make plans to go to the countryside, the mountains, or the sea whenever you can; your body—and your mind—will thank you.
