Cinco formas de aumentar tu energía

Whether we're with clients or friends, one of the recurring problems people ask us about is lack of energy. Stress and lack of sleep contribute to fatigue, but what can help us have more energy?

Drink water: One of the symptoms of dehydration is fatigue, and luckily, drinking water is easy and inexpensive. If you're unsure how to increase your water intake, start your morning with a glass of room-temperature or lukewarm water with a pinch of sea salt to add essential minerals.

Reduce stress: When you feel anxious, go for a walk; end your day with meditation; do yoga, run, dance, read...do whatever helps you relax. You can also take a magnesium supplement—like our Magnesium Bisglycinate —which helps manage stress and improve sleep.

Eat less sugar: Sugar and simple carbohydrates give us an energy boost, but then it crashes. Avoid glucose spikes by increasing your intake of healthy protein, combining sugars and carbohydrates with protein (for example, fruit with cheese, or bread with unsweetened nut butter), and moving around after meals. With more stable blood sugar levels, you'll also notice a reduction in fatigue.

Eating healthy and digesting well: Some foods give you energy, while others drain it. Learn to listen to your body to avoid foods and combinations that slow down your digestion. Generally, minimally processed foods, simple preparations, and a variety of seasonal vegetables in your diet are the best places to start. Tip: If you need digestive support, try Enzymes and Flora 9. It's an excellent supplement.

Avoid alcohol: Even just one beer has a sedative effect that can leave you feeling fatigued hours later. Furthermore, drinking at night, while it may make you feel tired, can also help many people fall asleep, making it harder to stay asleep and causing you to wake up tired. Tip: Replace your evening glass of wine with a relaxing herbal tea like sage.
