Traveling is wonderful, especially when it's a way to disconnect. For many, however, traveling means losing a routine that keeps us healthy and gives us the energy we need every day.
I would love to be someone who isn't greatly affected by changes in diet, but that's not the case for me. That's why I think if you're like me, these tips can help you enjoy your travels more:
1- Drink more water, especially if you're walking more than usual, or going somewhere hot. Start your day with a large glass, for example.
2. Eat more fruits and vegetables. Eating out is part of traveling. When you do, add a salad or a side of vegetables to your meal to increase your fiber intake. Find a market and buy fruit to snack on.
3. Take a probiotic supplement in the mornings to support your digestive health, because when we travel it's common to experience stomach upset related to changes in food, water, or exposure to bacteria we're not used to. We love this one for travel.
4- Add exercise to your day, even if it's just walking a lot, stretching or yoga in the morning or at night, it will help you feel good and full of energy.
5. Maintain your routine. If you usually go to the bathroom every morning, try to maintain that routine while traveling, giving yourself extra time if needed, so you don't feel bloated or uncomfortable all day. Schedule these times to fit into your normal activities so as not to disrupt your routine too much.
